Most of middle TN skipped by rain event
•January 14, 2007 • Leave a CommentNow isn’t THAT a bummer? The temps have cooled, but there’s still no real rain to speak of to the south of Interstate 40. Models are showing that we can expect some rain and/or light snow into tomorrow, but I’m not holding my breath.
Cold Front Stall
•January 13, 2007 • Leave a CommentLooks like the cold front that’s bringing the huge winter weather dump to the midwest has stalled out, making a heavy dump of rain in Tennessee a good possibility. The NWS in Nashville has advised spotters to keep an eye on things for the next few days as the very real possibility exists for flooding. Those in low-lying areas should keep a good headsup on the weather conditions for the next few days, just to be sure that they’re not going to get flooded out. If evacuations are imminent, get out. Your stuff can be replaced - you can’t.
Whoa. SNOW in Southern California??
•January 12, 2007 • Leave a CommentCheck out Jesse’s snow pics! Holy cow! It doesn’t often snow in Southern California, (as a dear friend of mine who lives there has pointed out to me), and when it does, it makes for a noteworthy occasion.
Local weather today is forecast as follows:
(Local is Murfreesboro, TN. For the weather forecast in your local area, Check out AccuWeather or The Weather Channel )
50% chance of rain for this afternoon and tonight. Lows in the low to mid 50s. Winds from the south at 10-15mph with gusts up to 20mph.
Tomorrow doesn’t look much different, though the chance of rain is pushed to 80% with heavy rain expected. Keep an eye out for local flooding. Expect a high of around 62 degrees F with an expected low of around 52 degrees F.
Update for winter?
•January 11, 2007 • Leave a CommentI have to admit, I love winter weather. Snow and ice make me happy, despite the havoc that it creates for us all. It’s beautiful and dammit, it’s fun. Be a kid for a day or so.
So when I caught wind of the January 10 post of Jesse Ferrell I became ecstatic! If this is true, then coldness will come in for at least a few days, and we might even have a winter!
As if winter hadn’t been brutal enough for certain parts of the midwest and hey, Denver isn’t thrilled, there could be more on the way. Gotta love that~if you’re me.
